Toddler Room Ideas

Since moving in to our new place a month ago, we’ve already had to rearrange Gracie’s room twice. In our old house, her room was just where she slept. Now, it’s her bedroom and her playroom. This has proven a bit challenging since her room is about half the size of her old one!

She is still in a crib, although she’s thinking pretty hard about climbing in and out of it, so we may have to address that sooner than later! We purchased the Jenny Lind crib when I was pregnant, and I’m glad that it converts to a toddler bed, since it’s a style that I absolutely love.

Her room has big, tall windows that let in tons of light – something her old room lacked. I joke that our old house had dollhouse windows, they were so tiny! We never even bothered to put up curtains in her old room, the room just never got very bright. We were drawn to how much natural light our new place has, so as soon as we signed our P&S I started looking for blackout shades for her room.

The one thing her room is lacking, is a reading nook. This girl LOVES to read. We can often find her tucked away in a corner, with a huge pile of books, “reading” to herself. She currently has a PBK “Anywhere” chair, and loves to lounge in it. She pulls it from her room, to the living room and then back again so having another seating option would be ideal.

These are my inspiration photos for her new, big girl room!

Taking notes from above and working with our smaller space –  I’m thinking that these would be perfect for a reading nook. Super cute right?

I seriously can’t believe I’m already talking/thinking/planning for her toddler room, but I guess it’s gotta happen sooner than later right? 😉

Mamas, tell me at what age you moved your little one out of their crib and to a toddler bed? Why did you move them when you did?

Linking up with Annie and Natalie for Thoughts for Thursday!
