Months Seven & Eight

Here we are – another month closer to your first birthday!
These past two months have been so much fun.

You have such a little personality and are still the happiest baby on the block.

You wake up every morning cooing and talking away and you just don’t stop smiling or babbling the whole day.

You are still toothless (shocking I know!!) but you learned how to sit up on your own, and started crawling the day before you turned 8 months.

We had your first major holidays – Thanksgiving and Christmas and you had a blast!

You are still incredibly obsessed with your Gunnie. A couple of times you’ve gotten a hold of his tail, or ear (!!) and he is so good and patient with you. He licks your face and plays with you, and you laugh hysterically at him.  I for-see the two of you becoming best buds!

You are venturing out and eating more kinds of foods and combinations of foods. You are less interested in your bottles but get quite impatient if we put you in your high chair and take too long to bring you your food!

You have been sick way too often for our liking – I guess we have daycare to thank for that. I think in the last two months, you have been well for maybe a total of two weeks. Even still, you smile and never get overly cranky. Your doctor was even impressed at how happy you were when we brought you in for an ear infection!

We truly think that God knew what he was doing when he gave you to us. We have never smiled or laughed as much as we have since you were born. Our lives are crazy, and hectic and a little stressful but all it takes is one look at your bright face, and it all melts away. Nothing we do could be more important than you. We love you to the moon and back beautiful girl!!

Weekending

Our weekend was actually quite boring. Eventful, but boring!
Friday night, I got the stomach bug that Gracie just got over. I spent all day Saturday laying in bed, cursing and shivering and feeling like death. About 15 hours into the dreaded bug, I started to feel immensely better …. just in time for it to hit Keith.
Here it is Sunday night, and he is just starting to feel normal again. This bug is hitting everyone we know, and while fast moving (24 hours to the dot from start to finish!) it is horrific while it lasts.
Anywho. Once I recovered, I cleaned my house from top to bottom and washed every single thing that any of us touched over the last three days. Lysol spray is my new best friend.
And then today, my sweet friend (and Gracie’s godmother) offered to come take her for a few hours so we could rest. Her daughter Nicolette is two, and was quite smitten with little G.
Wiping donut crumbs from her face … or maybe drool :)

Adjusting her hat just right

I have no clue — measuring her head for a bow??

Keith rested. I went to the grocery store, finished laundry and snuck in a mani/pedi. That was heavenly, after feeling like poo for 48 hours.
In better news, we watched the Patriots beat the Ravens and advance to the next round of the playoffs!
My makeup-less sick self with a less than enthusiastic looking child!

Intently watching the game

And what’s a weekend wrap without a few more random photos of my adorable child? :)
Seriously with that grin

Big girl jeans already?! That tush though

She is determined to constantly be following Gunner around, she is beyond obsessed with him. He tolerates her :) I thought this photo was hilarious … why go around the exersaucer when you can go under it?!

Thanks for stopping by -please wish us good health for this week! I can’t handle anymore sickness!!!

Linking up over at B Loved Boston!

Thoughts for Thursday

Happy Thursday y’all!!
Today is my birthday! A whopping THIRTY-ONE. Lordy, I’m getting old.
Here goes my random thoughts for today:
On getting older: I remember turning 24 – and CRYING because I knew 25 was next. For some reason, 25 was alot harder than 30. But when I turned 25, I hadn’t met Keith yet. That amazing thing happened when I was 25. And it’s just been up from there! Married at 28, bought our house at 29 and then I turned 30 and the best thing ever happened to me — I became a mama. But not just any mama, I became a mama to this little perfect girl.

Truthfully, I feel so much more comfortable in my 30s then I ever have and I really look forward to a new age, and new year. You know how I love fresh starts.
On my baby getting older:  Ahh I am struggling with this one. It feels like just yesterday we brought her home, and already she is eight months old. And as of yesterday, she is officially crawling.
I love every new age and stage, but I wouldn’t mind if time could slow done just a tad!
However…
On my baby turning one: I am super excited to plan her first birthday party and I’m trying to be patient and wait until at LEAST March before I do anything, but you know me and patience. Non-existence.
So if she could stay little but still have this amazing birthday, that would great. K thanks :)
On this ridiculous cold weather: I’m from Hawaii. I hate the cold more than anything. I am constantly asking Keith why we don’t live anywhere warm. He has no good answer for me, other than it not being as easy as it looks to pack and move. I guess he’s right. Any who, it’s 1 degree out today. It hasn’t been this cold here since January 2011. And we know cold! I feel bad for anyone that has to work outdoors today, and hope everyone stays warm! Hurry up Spring!
On being sick: the dreaded awful 24 stomach bug has hit our house. Poor Gracie was up at 3am puking. It continued until 7:15, but I didn’t sleep a wink those four hours. I say in the glider and held her sitting upright because she was puking in her sleep and I was so scared she would choke! Awful. Now she’s just really worn out and only wants to cuddle her mama and take naps. I ain’t complaining.
That’s all for now I guess! What’s on your mind today?!
Linking up with Natalie and Annie.
I had every intention of posting this much earlier – but blogging and taking care of a sick nugget is quite the challenge!
