Two Months

My sweet Gracie, it’s hard to believe you are two months old already! This past month has been so fun and you’ve really turned a corner!
The biggest difference is that you no longer scream all day, every day! Somewhere around five weeks, I began exclusively nursing and took you off all formula and that seemed to do the magic trick. I think your belly was just too sensitive to process anything other than breast milk.
You smile all the time now and are so happy! The only time you fuss is if you are hungry, or tired or want to be held.
You still hate napping during the day, and will only take catnaps while laying on me. Now that mommy is back to work, I’m hoping you’ll get better about laying down for a nap! Your sleep at night is hit or miss. Some nights you sleep 6-7 hours straight and then other nights you are still up 2-3 times a night. Those nights weren’t so bad when we could lay in bed all day and cuddle, but now mommy has to get up for work! I hope to get you on a better sleep schedule by 12 weeks :)
Highlights from your second month:
You discovered the animals hanging from your activity mat, and you will happily play here. The giraffe is your favorite!
We took you to Ipswich River Park for the first time and you slept, and then hung out with us in the shade while Gunner sprinted around :)

You rocking your new sunglasses on a second trip to the park!!
Your first trip to the wade pool at Bradley Palmer! Auntie Becca got to meet you for the first time :)

You were so precious in your bathing suit!!
Fourth of July was your first holiday and you looked so festive!!
We went to your first family cookout on the McKenney side and Gram and Grampy’s house!!
All the excitement from the cookout tired you right out!

Mommy went back to work this past Monday and after I picked you up from Grandma’s we took another selfie in the park! I miss you so much when we aren’t together!!
And then you turned two months old!!
You can already pick your head up like you want to sit up. You only like to be held facing out so you can see the world :) You still love bath time. And you still hate sitting in your car seat!
I know this next month will be full of lots more big milestones for you and we are so excited to watch you grow. You have been the biggest blessing and we love you to the moon and back!!!

My last week home

I can’t believe that I only have one more week off with my nugget! The “maternity leave” in this country is a joke, but that’s a post for another day. I wish I could stay home just a teeny bit longer, but we have bills to pay! So, I plan on making the most of this week and tiring us both out.

This is my bucket list :)
1. Snuggle Gracie as much as possible.
2. Take Gracie to the beach for the very first time!
3. Pick out five adorable outfits for the both of us!
4. Pack bags for my mom’s!
5. Pump, pump and pump some more! Make lactation cookies, buy more fenugreek and drink more Gatorade!
6. Attempt to find a formula for her as a backup option in case #5 doesn’t work so well.
7. Freezer meals!
8. Snuggle Gracie some more. Dance around the kitchen with her.
9. Go for walks.
10. Order her newborn prints! I have to have photos to put in my office :)
11. Convince Keith to hire a house cleaner :)
And that’s it! Keeping my week focused on what is important. Grace is growing SO fast and changing every day. I’m working on just soaking in every snuggle I can!
I mean seriously, who could resist this face?!

Father’s Day 2014

blogger-image-939458474

One of the things that I love most about having a child is celebrating holidays. I’m so excited to celebrate every one for the first time with her!

Father’s Day takes on a whole new meaning now that Grace is here! We spent the day having a cookout with Keith’s dad and later the three of us are going to attempt going to dinner for the first time!
Becoming a mom has been amazing. But seeing my husband become a father is so special. The way he looks at her, and holds her and just loves on her makes my heart melt. I am really looking forward to many more special moments with our new little family :)
Happy First Father’s Day babe!
