Well, we are HOME. A ten day vacation with a 16 month old, is not quite as relaxing as one might think 😉 but it was a wonderful trip!
We had a long day of traveling – we left Honolulu at 9:15pm Thursday (which is Friday 3:15am EST), landed in L.A. at 5:45am PST; an hour layover and another five hour flight to Miami; a two hour layover and then a 3 1/2 hour flight home. We didn’t get home until 11pm on Friday night. WHEW!
Traveling with a toddler is a lot more work, but I honestly wouldn’t change it for anything. The time we have had with her, and the memories we have created are absolutely priceless!!
I always get a little emotional when I leave Hawaii. It will always be my first home, and I love it so much there. I know I’m lucky to be able to come here as often as I do, and I don’t take a second of it for granted. The views, the smells, the ocean – I never tire of it.
Glad you had an awesome trip. We are in opposite situations. I am from NY, but live on Maui. In June, my husband and I traveled to Toronto and then NY for 2 1/2 weeks with our then 9 month old daughter. I know what you went through and feel your flying pain. It’s soo worth it though. 😀
