It’s hard to believe we have a 16 month old. She is a walking practically running, babbling, sweet little nugget.
Here is an update as well as her current favorites!
She is quickly becoming very independent – she wants what she wants, and she wants it NOW. Typical girl I tell ya. She can throw a temper tantrum like the best of them, but then snuggles in nice and tight and gives the sloppiest open mouth kisses. She is obsessed with her Dada and every evening, as soon as she hears the door open, she jumps up and screams “DA!!!” and goes running into his arms. I wish I was welcomed that way when I pick her up from baby school – I usually have to drag her away from her toys and friends!
She is learning to sing – and if you sing the alphabet to her, as soon as the song is over she starts singing “a, e, a , e, i” — so maybe she’s trying to sing “Old MacDonald Had A Farm” too
She can follow instructions and understands exactly what you are telling her – although she’s pretty good at ignoring you if she doesn’t want to do what you are telling her! She can throw dirty looks like her mama, and then crack herself up laughing over absolutely nothing. She truly is something else.
Favorite items:
One: Anything Skip Hop related – we love all of their products! Currently we are using the fork/spoon set (see above comment about wanting to do everything herself!) and the reusable snack bag/pouches. I also ordered this wet/dry bag for our trip!
Two: Now that she is walking, I was in search of good summer shoes and I fell in love with Crocs. (There’s a sentence I never thought would come out of my mouth!) We got her the littlest size ones from Zappos (with free next day shipping!) and she wears them constantly! We brought them to Hawaii but she outgrew them here and of course the next size up was a 4/5 and they were huge. Thankfully I found her the cutest pair of Havianas!
Three: Radio Flyer 4-in-1 Tryke – this thing is the best! Gracie loves being pushed around in it on our walks around the neighborhood, and I love that it’s something that will grow with her!
Four: Mega Bloks – if you are looking for a gift idea for a first birthday, this would be my suggestion. Gracie loves and is obsessed with these bloks!
Current Stats: She just outgrew size 3 diapers, after almost six months! She’s wearing mostly 18-24month clothes, she’s so tall that anything 12-18 months is too short! We are recycling dresses as tunics with cute shorts underneath to make them last longer I swear she has the smallest feet in the world, she just outgrew a size 3 shoe!
She is still a spitting image of her dada, with the personality of her mama. She has light curly hair, pale skin and piercing blue eyes.
Favorite things: she loves to clean, and loves to throw things in the trash! If I’m not watching her close enough, she will throw anything away!
She loves to dance and has moved on from just the head bob to a full body stomp. It’s the cutest thing!
She also LOVES the pool and swimming. We’ve spent a lot of time this vacation swimming and going to the beach, so I think when we get home I am going to sign her up for more swim lessons!
She’s saying so much more these days! She says “shoe, backpack, done, hi, here, wow, mama and dada”. Quite the random assortment of words
Every day that passes, she does something new and funny. She keeps us on our toes, and there is never ever a dull moment!! Baby girl, we love you so much!!!
