I’m started to notice a shift away from blog posts and more towards Instagram posts. Anyone else notice this?

Finding followers} Do you notice how much easier it is to follow others and have them follow you versus blog followings? I’m being totally honest here, I just never really knew how to FIND other blogs, nevermind find blogs that are the same niche as mine.

Time} For me to put together a solid, well thought out blog post can take over an hour. Especially to edit/add photos, source properly, and proof read. With Instagram, I can create a post in less than 15 minutes! So in the time it would take me to create one blog post, I can create four.

Frequency} No one posts multiple blog posts per day! But on Instagram, I can (and do!) post 2-3 times a day with the same amount of effort. This only helps to add to my exposure.

Search-ability} yes, that’s a made up word With Instagram I can add hashtags that increase my exposure. Figuring out the best hashtags for your niche, is a bit challenging but it’s all trial and error. Once you figure them out, you are golden! This was my first time as a Top Post for the #bostonbloggers and my posts are consistently up there! So whenever someone searches #bostonbloggers my little ol’ photo is up there SO cool!

Exposure} I follow lots of brands on Instagram. I can tag them in a photo when I’m using their products. The more a brand sees your marketability, the more likely they are to reach out to you and offer to sponsor posts and send you products. How fun is that?

Engagement} I love engaging with my Instagram followers! When someone comments or likes a photo of mine, I can very easily go to their profile and return the love! It’s about building a connection and creating a relationship.
