Weekly Eats

Week-Two

Last week’s meal planning was definitely a success! I spent a little more at the grocery store than I had planned, but we stuck to our meal ideas, and it made my life so.much.easier!

We both had the stomach bug last week, so there were two nights we had chicken soup. Since I still have the ingredients for chicken teriyaki, I moved that meal into this upcoming week. Friday night we are having company, so I’m planning on just ordering out for dinner.

Mon // Tues // Wed // Thur // Sat // Sun

My enchilada recipe is one I kind of just made up in my head and throw together. I use ground turkey (sauteed with garlic, and lots of taco-type seasonings) and I make my own enchilada sauce. Once both are ready, I mix them together and fill a bunch of tortillas. Smother them shredded cheese and more enchilada sauce and bake until bubbly. Easy peasy! I did link a similar variation above, I typically serve them with black beans and corn on the side, with rice.

My sides are pretty simple this week …. steamed broccoli and sauted green beans, some mashed potatoes, maybe some crunchy garlic bread with our soup! Mmm mmm.

On that note, Keith and I are off to enjoy this sunny Sunday and grab some lunch. It’s become our weekly Sunday lunch date, and it’s nice to get out of the house and do something :)

Sweet Baby Girl’s Shower

blogger-image-234520407
Last Saturday, March 8, our families hosted our baby shower for little girl. It was the first nice spring day in a long time, we were so thankful for the sun shining and the mid 40’s temps! My mom, Keith’s mom and stepmom, our two sisters and my girlfriend Meghan all pitched in to throw us the most perfect shower. We are so blessed to have them in our lives and I can’t wait for them to all love on and spoil baby M :)
Arriving at the venue!
One of my besties Meghan. Love her to pieces.
My younger sister, but you could probably already tell that :)
A close up of the tables and centerpieces
Yummy drink station
Our “onesie making” table! We chose three winners at the end, and I love that we have so many personalized onesies for her first year!

This little guy melts my heart. Baby Kenny, the sweetest and most lovable boy.

Our gift table display was so amazing! I loved the clothes line with the little outfits!

My sweet mother-in-law

Love my hubby <3

My husband was such a champ …. he came and stayed the whole time! I think this photo should be his new Facebook profile photo haha

Our new “human size” giraffe
I love giraffes and have always said that when I had a baby, I wanted this for the nursery. My mother-in-law knew this, and bought it at a boutique in town. I’m so excited to finally have it! Hopefully it doesn’t scare the baby :)

We were so blessed by all our friends and family who came to celebrate with us, and who sent us gifts. We were completely blown away by people’s generosity, and there are very few things that we still need to pick up for the baby. She received more clothes and shoes than she will probably ever be able to use, but that’s ok with me because she will be the best dressed baby in town!

Her glider was delivered today, so as soon as we set it up I promise I will do a nursery tour post! I am so excited to share the final results :) I also promise to do a registry recap on the things we chose and registered for, and why!

31 Week Bumpdate!

blogger-image-356376155

How far along: 31 weeks
Gender: Girl
Weight gain: 26 lbs.
Maternity clothes: I am so grateful for slightly warmer temps, since I’m much more comfortable in my maternity maxi dresses and skirts!
Stretch marks: Nope … still keeping my fingers crossed!
Belly button in or out: Out
Sleep: Still about the same, some nights are better than others.
Best moment this week: our baby shower! little baby M is SO spoiled already, and we are so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family
Miss anything: being able to breathe! Being anemic apparently affects your blood flow, which is why I’m more tired than normal and experiencing shortness of breath. I’m taking an iron supplement, so I’m hoping that it starts working soon.
Movement: still SO much movement, but it is different than before, probably because she’s getting bigger! Now instead of little jabs or kicks, they are whole body movements. She also seems to have found my ribs and also likes to press down on my bladder at the same time :)
Cravings: I am still loving anything sweet and lots of fruit. Also still obsessed with “clean” smells and anything citrus. You should have seen me at Target smelling all the different cleaners last week before finding a few that did the trick. So yes, that also means that I am still on a cleaning rampage!
Queasy or sick: I had the nasty bug that is going around, and was out of work part of Thur and Fri. Yuck. Nothing like being pregnant and puking :(

Looking forward to: more and more spring weather, it means we are getting that much closer to meeting baby girl!

I hope y’all are having an awesome week!!
