Fourth of July Recap

I mentioned that every year, on July 3rd, my hometown of Gloucester throws a crazy party. I missed the parade this year (silly work) but we arrived in time to enjoy a gorgeous sunset over the water, some yummy beverages and then, the spectacular fireworks display.
My friends Meghan & Zorba (you might remember them from this post) have a fabulous apartment right on the water, and with a perfect view of everything.

The deck has glass walls, so it literally looks like they do not exist. Amazing.

We look so festive! This is my favorite scarf from Apricot Lane :)
Promptly at 9:30pm, the fireworks began. Can I just say that I love that my new camera can take such amazing photos??

red, white & blue

The 4th of July is my favoriteeee holiday. It’s summer and the weather is beautiful, there are parades and cookouts and FIREWORKS. Add in a day off, hanging out with friends and family, good food and yummy drinks….it’s the making for a perfect day!
 
It’s also a day to celebrate America’s birthday and honor those who have served and given so much for our freedom.

 
Tonight we are heading to my hometown, Gloucester, for July 3rd festivities. One of my friends has an amazing place with a perfect view of the fireworks. I’m bringing a “Patriotic Trifle” and we’re making bomb-pop champagne drinks complete with sparklers.

It’s also the perfect time to break out a festive outfit and you know I’ll be decked out in red, white and blue! I even have patriotic nails!

Weekend Recap

Ok, so for starters, I am a *tad* bit embarrassed at how much alcohol consumption there was this past weekend. There was way more than these photos even show, but seriously, last week was just THE week from hell. So it was warranted.

The Princess

Friday night we tried at dinner at a new Mexican place that has very quickly become my favorite. Their margaritas were to dieeee for.

Saturday was a bit of a lazy day .. Keith hung out at the driving range, while I did some shopping…and tried on some new vacation outfits! We went to dinner with another couple and went to this local restaurant known for their yummy martinis. The pink one above was a Strawberry Shortcake Martini. Delish!

Sunday, while Keith was out golfing, I hung out with my MOH Jen, and her four (yes four!) adorable kids. We went to the pool and spent the afternoon swimming and enjoying the sun. Little Nicolette was quite tuckered out at the end of the day.

We work really hard, and relaxing and enjoying our time together on the weekends is the key to our sanity :) These are the kind of weekends I live for.
