Friday at Fenway

We had been waiting for months for this night…the much anticipated Jason Aldean concert at Boston’s iconic Fenway Park.
Fenway is one of my favorite places, especially on a gorgeous summer night. The line up included Thomas Rhett, Jake Owen and Miranda Lambert.
Jake Owen performed even with a broken arm he got from a go-cart accident. He put on one hell of a show :)

The show ended with a gorgeous fireworks display … which we missed because we opted to duck out early and head over to Jerry Remy’s bar and restaurant. We were starving, and they have floor to ceiling windows that open, so we were able to hear the end of the show, avoid the crowds and get some super yummy food. Who knew Remy’s had such a good gluten-free menu?

Half way through the show, I had a panic attack due to the insanely large crowd (it was the largest amount of people Fenway had ever held!). We spent the rest of the show from an open air balcony away from the throngs of drunk, crazy people :)

We had a really great time, and it was the perfect start to our vacation! Next stop, Jamaica! :)

Summer Reading

revenge

I have always loved reading, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve found that I go through spurts and I think it just depends on how much free time I have. I definitely tend to read more during the summer …. which brings me to this post :)

Reading is perfect for lazy days at the beach or to pass the time while traveling. Since we are leaving for Jamaica in less than three days (not that I’m counting or anything….) I figured I would share with you the reads I’ve downloaded to my Kindle in preparation for the trip!

I loved the book and movie “The Devil Wears Prada”, so I’m really looking forward to seeing how the sequel compares!

These next two books were recommended to me by an email I got from Giuliana Rancic. I know, I’m so cool :) j/k! I had signed up for emails from her new site Fab, Fit, Fun and this week the topic was on beach reads. How fitting :)

I can’t wait to do a whole lot of nothing for six days … just laying out and relaxing, working on my tan, so I’m thinking I’ll be able to easily get through these in a week :)

What are you reading this summer? Any other recommendations I should check out??

….not yet….

A curious thing has happened to me in the last few months. I’m not sure if it’s the settling in to married life, the buying of a house … or what. But lately, whenever someone asks us that question (you know the one!) my answer is always “Not yet!”.

When did that happen? Before, I would smile (half roll my eyes), and say “oh one day … once we’ve done x,y,z …..”

But now? Now that we have accomplished x,y,z?? Now I instinctively smile and say “not yet!”. And I do it without even realizing it. I think that’s the scarier part.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I’m barreling towards the big 3-0, much much faster than I’d like. And I’m thinking that if we’re going to get on this baby-wagon, it’s gonna have to be soon……or maybe it’s because my subconscious knows. Knows that we’re as ready as we’re ever going to be.

So I guess we shall wait and see. Because maybe the time of “when” is sooner than we think ;)
